EG Manhattan: Fundraiser for Susu Community Farms

At Earth Guardians Manhattan we decided that one of the first projects as a crew that we wanted to take up was a fundraiser. Susu commUNITY Farms really caught our eye since they had a variety of important programs that reached a lot of people. As Susu is currently getting a new farm, we realized the best way we could be of help is to spread the word and raise money to help. Even though EG Manhattan and Susu are in 2 different states, we were very proud that we could help from afar.

To raise the funds we decided to sell a variety of cookies, lemonade and decorative signs from recycled wood in Central Park. Not only did we get people to donate and help support the fundraiser, but we were also able to inform people about some of the programs that Susu offers such as CSA boxes of food for those in need, or providing a safe space for BIPOC. Many people saw what an amazing job Susu was doing and because of that we were able to get a lot of donations and exceed our goal of $1,000.
